Want to start a new business? But don’t know what strategies and marketing techniques to use? And how to implement it? Don’t worry; I’ll show you how it can be done and what you need to start a business in this blog. The method and knowledge about what type of marketing you can use, traditional or digital marketing.

There are 2 steps that you have to do before starting up.


  1. Take a print of your goals and pin it to a place where you can see them daily. This will remind you what your priorities are. So, it is a crucial step before you start any work.
  2. Set a financial goal and create a plan to achieve it. Let’s say you want to earn one crore in a year. You have to plan it accordingly, what are your products and their price and how many customers you need to achieve your goal. The graph below explains it to you quickly.

What is “Marketing” exactly?

What do you think, what marketing is precise? Of course, most of you will think it is creativity to convince customers to buy the product, create slogans/banners, etc. But, it is only partially true. These are just a part of marketing.

Marketing does not start after creating the product. It should begin before creating a product, i.e., you should first need to understand the customer’s need. It makes you a customer problem solver because it leads to a product that sells itself. If your product is a problem solver, it will spread through word of mouth, the best marketing method.

Take a note of these 2 things in marketing:-

  1. Marketing is not just about selling and making new customers. It is also about keeping your existing customers happy and satisfied. This makes them lifetime customers and also builds trust.
  2. Never let marketing become more important than the product. Because you have customers for the quality of the product and a good product sells itself. If you have great quality products, your customers will pass it to others with the word of mouth marketing.


Why should you master marketing skills?


  1. It is not a type of work that can be out of date/fashion. It can be updated but not ultimately end.
  2. It is the most valuable investment in a business as it gives an immediate Return on investment (ROI) rather than any other work.
  3. You can do any business and grow your business with a strategy and plan if you know marketing.


What do you need to get started in the Marketing field?

Many aspects are essential in the marketing field. Let’s talk about some of them.


  • Building a Strong Brand

Building a strong brand is really important as it creates an image in other’s minds. For example. If you hear toothpaste, what comes to your mind? It would definitely be Colgate that comes to your mind, right? This is the power of branding. Here, Colgate company has acquired its position in the toothpaste field.

People always remember the No. 1 or max No. 2, not the rest. So, always try to become the first. If you cannot become the No. 1 category, then become a leader in the sub-category. For example, my mentor Digital Deepak has acquired the 1st position in Digital marketing in India. Here, “digital marketing” is a category and “India” is a sub-category. All this will happen if you have a good quality product or a service in the first place.

  •  Have Good Communication Skills

Good communication skills play a crucial role in marketing. So, what do you mean about good communication skills? First, it mainly understands your target audience very well. It is the process where you can express your emotions to your customers effectively.

It doesn’t require good sophisticated English or vocabulary and grammar. It only requires how effectively you can explain the product. For that, you can do an exercise, you can start reading/writing or watch stand-up comedies/sitcoms.

  • Knowledge of Global Economics

Every entrepreneur should learn about global economics. This helps you to make good decisions in your business based on economics. The country’s economy goes up as the average age of the country financially grows. This is why most governments focus on the youth as the average age of the country is of the youths.

You need to create a strong business with a vital product/service as the recession creates strong companies and flushes out the weaker ones. So, knowledge of the economy should also be a priority for each and every entrepreneur and should focus on the average age of the company.

The full form of CATT is – Content, Attention, Trust, and Transaction. CATT is a formula that shows you how to grow your business through marketing. The formula is:

  • [n] Niche:- Choosing your Niche correctly is very important. Your success and wealth depends on the Niche you choose
  • [C] Content:- Creating helpful content that attracts people from your Niche, such as blogs, posts on social media, live webinars, etc.
  • [A] Attention:- Driving attention to your content with the help of SEO, Paid ads, Social media, and Referrals.
  • [T] Trust:- Building trust with your customers is the most important thing. You can do that via tripwire marketing, automation, and retargeting.
  • [T] Transaction:- Converting your sales with leads into customers with the process of natural sales.


How yo select your Niche

Your Niche depends on 3 things, i.e., Talent, Market, and Passion. Firstly, you have to check where your Passion lies and your talent for that. Then, after you know your Passion and you also have talent in that, check whether there is a market for that or not. All of these 3 aspects are important for niche selection. If even one of them is not present, then your business can fail. So, you should have all of these aspects to build a successful business and product.
